At what Age should she be allowed to wear make-up?

At what Age should your daughter start wearing make-up?

As a thirteen year old girl I've experienced many days where I want to feel like a grown-up, and I have also gone through many days where I want to build a fort, watch tv, and play with my barbies, this is because kids around that age are going through puberty and are strugling to find the balance of maturing to older woman while still being a child.

The days that I want to feel more grown up are usually the days I want to wear make-up. Since this generation of kids are growing up with role models that have a face caked with professional make up and perfect bodies, Many kids are now feeling more and more insecure about themselves and feel that in order for them to look attractive or be accepted you have to wear make-up.

Now before we go in too deep I want to say that not all kids feel this way, some kids such as myself like to wear make-up because its fun and all our friends are doing it. But other kids feel that make-up is the only answer to looking pretty. At times like this parents are not sure when to say okay to their kids having make-up. Its usually an argument because the kids end up saying something like "But all my friends wear make-up" And parents find themselves stuck not knowing what to do.

In my opinion kids should be able to have make up, but only a limited amount depending on their age. If its daily make-up I think that at age 11-12 They should be allowed to wear a little bit of lip gloss, at age 13-14 they should be allowed to wear a bit of foundation and concealers, and then by the time they are 15 and in high school they could get more in depth with Bronzers, blush, and eyeliner. I also think that before they start wearing make-up they should have an adult teach them how to properly cleanse their face as that is very important, but then again I am only thirteen and I still have a lot more to learn. Please tell me weather you agree or disagree in the comments below I would love to know what you guys think about this matter.
