How to deal with moving away

Moving is very hard for most people, especially if you are leaving a lot behind such as friends, and family. I recently had to move to somewhere completely different so I thought writing this could help some of you out :)

understand it gets easier:

The first thing you should know once you move is that everything will get easier once you are settled in. I remember worrying way too much but as a couple days went by, it got easier. Moving is hard at first since you usually start off not knowing anybody and feeling alone but once you get settled in and start meeting new people it can be fun.

Meeting new friends:
Before I talk about how you can meet new friends i just wanted to let you know that this does not mean you have to forget about your old friends. However, its always nice to have a couple people that you can have fun with near you and it's  ok to meet new friends. In order to meet new friends you have to be yourself because if you aren't people can see right through you. So be nice to people, and be yourself. Also don't be afraid to go up to people and tell them about yourself. It might be difficult at first but you never know if that could be a start to a new friendship. When I was moving, my biggest fear was being alone, and not having friends, but if you talk to people and figure out what you have in common it can be quite easy.

Staying in contact:
One of the hardest aspects about moving is leaving close family and friends behind. But remember you can always stay in contact with them.Video chatting with them can be a great start, then later in you can talk about ways you souls be able to reunite on vacations, etc..

I hope this helped you feel better about moving, it's definitely hard at first but it gets better. :)
